Step 2 - Importance of Keywords
In the realm of SEO, it’s all about the keywords that you purposely and carefully choose to target. As mentioned in the previous step, keywords are the terms people type into the search box.

Let's do an example where we'll type in the keyword "music downloads." On the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) shown below, a person will quickly scan for relevance and is most likely to click on the organic search result or paid search listing that contains this very same keyword "music downloads" or one that is highly similar to it.

We've circled the "music downloads" in red (not in every location in this sample page) to show you the different places where it appears. For the sake of review, at the very top and right-hand side of the results page, you have Paid Search listings (Sponsored Links). This is totally distinct from the Non-Paid Search (Organic) results - starting with the result Free MP3 music downloads.
Just below the top two sponsored links, you'll find news results which are articles including the keyword "music downloads" from Google News. Notice in the organic results how "music downloads" is in bold in the title, description, and website address (URL which is green). We'll talk later about how to include your keywords in page titles and write pithy marketing messages in the descriptions.
